Mackenzie has a passion for nurturing the spiritual formation of our church’s youngest disciples. A native of Williamson County, she earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at Washington University in St. Louis. She returned to Franklin in 2010 and received her Master’s of Education in School Counseling from Vanderbilt. She and her husband, David, initially came to Forest Hills in 2011. It was there that David became a believer and received the sacrament of baptism alongside their first child, Ephraim. After a hiatus, the Lobers returned to Forest Hills in 2022, bringing with them their newest addition, Enoch (now 3), who can usually be spotted making a “joyful noise” from the second row. Shortly thereafter, Mackenzie felt a calling to step into a leadership role in children’s ministry. Mackenzie spends much of her time caring for her two medically complex kiddos and journeying to Cincinnati for their medical care. She enjoys advocating for inclusion of children with disabilities, gardening, home design projects, and dreaming up new custom children’s clothing creations .
