Karen has lived in Franklin for 18 years, coming here from central New York via North Carolina. After earning a degree in education from Syracuse University, Karen used her teaching skills to provide computer and software training in the corporate world until relocating to Tennessee.
She enjoys teaching anything to anyone, and loves witnessing that moment when the light blinks on and they get it. Her only failure, to date, is in teaching her 6 cats to stay off the counters. Karen’s son, Sam, and his fiancé, Cassie, live in southern California, and have given her a granddog and grandcat (so far). She loves music and travel, and nothing makes her happier than combining a good road trip with a music festival or series of concerts. Ironically, Karen can’t sing or play an instrument, but she is a pretty good whistler.
