DISCIPLE GROWTH GUIDE

Disciple Growth Guide

We’ve created a tool to help you self-assess where you are in your spiritual walk – both to celebrate where God’s grace has already been at work in your life, and to prayerfully reflect on an area where you’re sensing a desire to grow.

Use this tool anytime. You can revisit it later. Take some quiet time to think and pray about it. If you’d like a conversation partner, we’d be honored. Contact us here.

You Are What You Love

Disciple Growth Characteristics: Worship, Ordering Time and Money

Dates/Time: Monday Nights at 6:30 PM // April 7 – May 19

Teacher: John McAtee

Course Description: Based on James K.A. Smith’s book You are What You Love: The Spiritual Power of Habit, we will explore what it means to worship God, not just for an hour on Sunday morning, but throughout the week. We will examine how who and what we worship shapes our hearts. In so doing, we will seek to make sure we are aligning our lives toward the One who created us out of love, for love. We will learn the purpose of the liturgies we use on Sunday mornings and how to transfer that into practices that shape us throughout the week.

This class might be a faithful next step if you…

  • Wonder what it could look like to worship God throughout the week, not just on Sunday mornings.
  • Want the way you spend your time and energy throughout the week to reflect your worship of God.
  • Want to better understand how the elements of Sunday morning worship shape us and apply those principles in your everyday life.
