Sarah loves listening to people’s stories and helping them discover what gives them life. She is convinced that God is present everywhere, and believes that church is where we learn together how to notice and point to God in the world. A teacher to the core, Sarah attended Vanderbilt to study elementary education and planned to pursue a career teaching in Nashville Public Schools. During college summers, God pulled at her heartstrings as she served her home church of Northville, MI. She found that Christian formation was a beautiful place where her gifts and passions met the needs of the world, and was surprised to end up at seminary shortly after! Sarah earned her Master of Divinity degree at Duke Divinity School and joined the FHUMC team in June 2019 with great joy and hope.
Sarah will be quick to joke that she’s not much of a “hobbies” person! But her favorite ways to spend time include talking with her grandparents, trying out new recipes, interior decorating with her mom, dancing, and hosting friends at her home. Oh, and keeping tabs on the latest TLC series! She is quick to laugh and to listen and would be honored to get to know you over a cup of tea.
